My Little Beakers

It's hard to believe Blake is already a month old. Actually a month and one week! It feels like the time has gone by so fast, but so slow at the same time! I forgot how fast they change in this first little while! His last check up was on April 15th and he was already up to 9lbs 9oz. Jason weighed himself tonight first without and then with Blake and he was almost 12lbs, and last night while we were taking some pictures of the little bub, he had his first smile. At first I thought it was just a fluke, and not a real smile, but he has given me several more smiles today! It just melts my heart to see his little lips turn up, and his sweet little dimples appear as his eyes disappear! We are all elated to have a new member in our family and look forward to each new day with him here! Since I've been a slacker with the pictures, here are LOTS photos from the past month.

First Bath:

He's got leprechaun ears!

Blake sportin' my favorite little jammies that he has already grown out of! :(

Blake's one month celebration, complete with some bubbly!

And here is the beginning of his first smile! It got bigger, but once I saw him cracking it, I had to act quick!

Ms. Kate

So I meant to do an 18 month post for Kate and have been meaning to do it for a few months. Now that she is almost 21 months, I figured it is time! I am mostly doing this for my own purposes, since I don't have any sort of baby book for her yet!

Kate's Favorites:
Activities:
*Painting/Coloring
*Bubbles
*Dancing/Singing
*Watching TV/Movies
~Little Einsteins
~Mickey Mouse Club House
~Imagination Movers
~Baby Signing Time
~Her New Barbie Thumbelina movie
*Snuggling anything, I mean anything! I've caught her snuggling Blake's dirty diapers on more than one occasion!
*Playing her piano (little princess keyboard).
*Being outside doing ANYTHING!
*Going to nursery at church, she loves being with other kids.

Foods:
*Cereal "Ceerow"
*Noodles "Noos"
*Milk "Mil-Kay"
*Pancakes "Pa-kay"
*CANDY "Cannee"
*Fruit snacks "nacks"

The little things we love about our Tater Tot:
*She loves to dance, and has learned two dances from TV. The first one was "Shakable You" from an episode of the Imagination Movers. The second is Daisy's Dance from Mickey Mouse Club House. Here is a video, the dance goes "jump forward, jump backward, clap clap clap, march march march, slide to one side, slide to the other side". She leaves out the jumping part, but I still think it's pretty cute!

*She has started to pretend, and it's so adorable! She started a few months ago starting to pretend to be asleep and would snore, more recently I have seen her putting her sippy cup straw up to Coco's (her favorite stuffed monkey) mouth to offer him a drink, she uses my silicone baking sheet as a blanket to wrap up her stuffed animals and baby, and just today she grabbed a bottle, put her baby in her high chair and started to feed her!

*She is a super great big sissy to Blake. Any time he cries, she makes sure that BOTH Mommy and Daddy know about it, and isn't okay until he either stops, or we are both in the room attending to him. Then she offers him his pacifier and blanket. She is very gentle with him and loves to snuggle him. The only thing that bothers her is when he nurses and I just realized why today. As he was eating she got upset and said "Eating Mommy". I think she thinks he is eating ME!

How she is learning and growing:
*She knows what sound each letter of the alphabet makes (thanks to leap frog)!
*She knows all the major colors
*She is learning her shapes
*She can count to 15 (11-15 are a little iffy 11="nine" (she also uses that for seven, I think she has a hard time with the v sound so she replaces the whole number) 12=twel 13-15= teen teen.
*She loves to say her bed time prayers and started saying "men" at the end of them.
*She has started putting two words together. The most common is "baby cry".

We love our little stinker, and fall more in love every day!

Easter Sunday!

Easter was pretty uneventful for us this year. Weekends have turned into my one and only chance to get some sleep, so we hid Kate's basket until I rolled out of bed at around 9 o'clock. She went for the fruit snacks right off the bat, she didn't even waste time looking through anything else!

That is until she discovered the Easter Bunny left her some bubbles!

After all was said and done, I think her favorite thing was her princess flash light or "wight".

Here are a few shots of the kiddos in their Easter duds:

After church, we had a brunch dinner, a brunner if you will and called it good! I meant to make a cake, but the day got away from me too quickly! Hopefully I will be more on top of things next year!

We also attended our city's Easter Egg Hunt (the week before Easter). Once Kate figured out what was going on, she was in heaven! There field was partially covered with candy filled eggs and the rest was just candy scattered about. She got sick of hunting after a while and just wanted to enjoy her loot!

What Do I Do Now????

My amazing Mother came out a week and a half ago to help me get adjusted to having two kids! She couldn't have arrived at a better time! The day she got here I thought I was going to lose it! I was running on very little sleep, Kate was sick, whiney and needy and I could not give her half the attention I usually do, because I had a little leach stuck to my body! My Mom got here and everything turned around!!! Her days were spent cooking, cleaning, helping me at Dr.'s appointments, entertaining Kate while I slept in:

and taking care of Blake:

Her nights were spent on the rocking chair, keeping Blake asleep for me!

She left me with a clean house, a sound mind, a fridge full of corn chowder and potato salad and a little girl who is addicted to fruit snacks! What are we going to do without Grandma????
