It's the little things that make me love being a mother, coming across little "surprises" and the sweet, funny things my kids do everyday.

a container of floss, completely unrolled, and then left on the counter once the fun was done...

muggy little hand prints that will forever be on my windows, no matter how often I clean them...

Giggles

Blake so full of life and energy! We love hearing him giggle!





I know the videos make it look like Kate is starving for attention, but believe me she gets more than her fair share!

Krispy Kreme

Our play group got to go on a tour of Krispy Kreme! It was awesome! The best part? We got to dip our own donuts in frosting and sprinkles! I don't know who had more fun, me or Kate!

Kate's favorite part...SPRINKLES! I know you can't tell by her expression, but she is just concentrating on getting as many sprinkles on that bad boy as possible!

I had someone hold Blake while I helped Kate. He has an acute case of separation anxiety, can you tell? I was like 2 feet away from the kid!

Fifth Disease

Poor Kate has Fifth Disease, aka "slapped cheek disease" luckily it's just a virus and will pass, and believe it or not, the rash doesn't hurt or itch, it just looks like I abuse my child! The first time it showed up, I thought it was a horrible sunburn and I felt like the worst Mother in History for not using sunblock! The second time it came was also right after we had been out in the sun, but I had used sunblock that time and the pattern of the redness was in the same exact spots as before (randomly on the bottom of her earlobe along with other patches that were identical as the first time). Apparently heat and sun makes the rash worse. I felt a little better knowing it wasn't my lack of sunblock that made her face so red the first time!









We've been trying to stay indoors lately!

Wild Man

Blake is definitely a wild guy. He's always into everything and climbing onto things he shouldn't. He's very busy! I'm always finding random toys, food or drinks inside my pots and pans that are in a low cupboard. I have dry beans in bags, and almost all of them have holes in them now thanks to his 6 little chompers and thanks to those same chompers, half our toys are chewed up! In the mornings when I brush my teeth, I can't turn my back for two seconds without him unraveling half the toilet paper roll! He's always onto the next mess making adventure before I have time to even think about cleaning up the first one!

A Soiree

We had a cute little family move into our ward this winter. They have two little girls that Kate just adores, and a 6 year old boy who she adores even more, but that's another story! Recently they had a a fun little dress up party. They made jewelry boxes, bejeweled place mats and each got a magic wand to take home. Kate had a blast!

Love This Girl

I am still planning on catching up on the last few months, but I had to write some of these things down before I forget them!

Kate is really developing her own little personality and I'm loving every minute of it (well almost every minute)! She surprises us daily with some random fact she remembers, or something new she's learned and she has quite the little imagination. Tonight at dinner, her bundle of grapes became a coconut tree and then a bicycle. She can turn almost any random item in the house into cookies or a cake and offers them to me several times a day. She is also becoming more independent and likes to do most things herself, along with that comes being more possessive and the other day when I said "Oh my goodness" she responded with "NO! MY goodness!" She said her first prayer (all by herself) tonight, this is what she said:

Dear Heavy Fadder
Tank you for dis day
Tank you for blessings
Tank you for my Walmart
Name of Jesus Christ, MEN!

Don't ask me where the Walmart part came from, maybe because we're there on an almost daily basis?!?!?! It is one of her favorite stores to go to!

We've know Kate was a sensitive little bug almost from the day she was born, but the other night she blew me away with her tender little heart! I was having a rough day and was dishing up dinner for everyone (dinner time is one of the most stressful times of the day in our house) and I'll spare you the details, but I had a mild freak-out and stormed off to my room. Here is Kate and Jason's conversation that followed immediately:

K: Mommy's Mad! (in a sad tone)
J: No, Mommy's just sad
K: I get Mommy food! I get Mommy food!
J: Ok, lets get Mommy some food (Jay then proceeded to dish me up a plate and stick it in the microwave)
K: I go see Mommy

She then leaves her favorite meal on the table and comes back to my room to see me, she comes in..

K: Hi Mommy!
M: Hi Kate.
K: You ok?
M: Yes, I'm ok (she then crawls into bed with me)
J: (calls from the kitchen)Kate come eat your dinner
K: (yells back) I nuggle Mommy for one minute, I nuggle Mommy, one minute!
K: (to me in a whisper) Mommy, come eat dinner with us, Mommy, come eat dinner with us
M: OK. Kate, I love you, thank you for making me happy
K: (all the way down the hall) Your welcome Mommy, Your welcome Mommy!

The other day, as I was coming out of Blake's room after putting him down for a nap, I saw this:



She found Jason's old racket ball racket and said, OH! A Heart! (meaning a harp) and then proceeded to play it!



Today when we got home from the library, she was messing around in the coat closet, I went in during her nap to get the vacuum and found her coat, hung up!
